There are a number of places of interest near by worth visiting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Borsec<\/strong><br \/>\n(26km):\u00a0is a well-known spa back from the age of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. Its springs are called as the Queen of Mineral Sparkling Waters. Walking on the esplanades, the old pre-First World War villas even in bad shape offer a pleasant view. After that you can take a short walk to the Fairy Garden\u00a0public baths, where in tiny wooden pools you can try the healing power of the eis-cold water. The little Osaros bath is functioning with heated mineral water <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/borsec.Osaros\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/borsec.Osaros<\/a>, <a href=\" http:\/\/www.statiuneaborsec.ro\/hu\" target=\"_blank\"> http:\/\/www.statiuneaborsec.ro\/hu<\/a>. If your time allows, you may pay a visit to Durau (62km) at the feet of Ceahlau Mountain (1907 m), beside the Bicaz Lake. The monastery built in 1835 is famous for the indoor fresques painted by Nicolae Tonitza. On the way back you can visit the great lake of Bicaz and the Pass of Bicaz.<br \/>\nTo come back immediately from Borsec, and make a detour to Bilbor village is an other variant. It is situated on the old Austro-Hungarian border, in a lovely pastoral setting, also with springs of mineral sparkling water. <\/p>\n<p><strong>The Giurgelul Basin and Lacul Rosu<\/strong><br \/>\nNear of Toplita (30km) you can visit a renaissance castle in Lazarea. The next stop is Gheorgheni, an old Armenian merchant town which has preserved its original unique architecture. Its museum has an interesting collection <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tmmuzeum.ro\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.tmmuzeum.ro<\/a>. From here the Red Lake is only 23 km and you are already in the famous Pass of Bicaz.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Salt Country<\/strong><br \/>\nPraid Sovata and Corund are places you have to see. Across the Bucin pass one can have an unforgettable view from 1287 m. The village Joseni is the coldest place in the country in wintertime. On the way don\u2019t miss the Basa restaurant in Borzont with its fresh baked bread. At Praid you have to visit the salt mine and its new baths with salt water. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.salinapraid.ro\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.salinapraid.ro<\/a>. In Sovata you may go to take a bath in the Bear\u2019s Lake. This water is so high in salt concentration that you float on its surface without having to move. From there, it\u2019s highly recommended to visit the village of Corund, which is the home of artisans families who create pieces of superb pottery.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Miercurea Ciuc, Sumuleu, Tusnad and St. Anna Lake<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00a0Visiting the Seckler country can be unforgettable experience. Sumuleu Ciuc\u00a0is a place of pilgrimage which is open to visitors all year round. There you will find a small chapel with painted wooden ceiling dedicated to \u201cThe Saviour\u201d. In the near by restaurant you can sample Hungarian and Armenian traditional delicacies.<br \/>\n For those who are interested seeing medieval fortified churches there are two a few kilometers away: one is in Delni\u0163a with exterior frescos and the other is in Mihaileni with interior fresco. In Miercurea Ciuc you can visit important exhibitions in the renaissance style Miko Castle <a href=\"http:\/\/www.csszm.ro\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.csszm.ro<\/a>. Not far is Tusnad resort with its famous volcanic St. Anna lake and new baths with thermal waters <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wellness-tusnad.ro\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.wellness-tusnad.ro<\/a><br \/>\n.<br \/>\n<strong>The Toplita Deda Pass<\/strong><br \/>\nYou will have a\u00a0pleasant journey to this picturesque valley. Before you reach\u00a0the town of Reghin you can visit a protestant church with fragments of wall paintings from around 1300 at V\u0103leni de Mure\u015f. A few km\u2019s away is the famous renaissance Kemeny Castle at Brancovenesti <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/MarosvecsiKemenyVarkastely\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/MarosvecsiKemenyVarkastely<\/a>. In Reghin (71 km) the most important building is the Saasish church; its city center is also pleasant.  14 km-s east in the middle of an arboretum you can find the Bornemissza castle built in 1740. Going further to Lapusna you will find the castle of Ferdinand, king of Romania. Here you can see a little wooden church from 1779. On the way back you can chose an other way and visit the salt baths of Ideciul de Jos.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Baroque Castles and Targu Mures<\/strong><br \/>\nThe most important and fascinating\u00a0baroque castles are between Reghin and Targu Mures at Gornesti and Dumbravioara. The first one surrounded by a nice park can be visited <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gernyeszeg.com\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.gernyeszeg.com<\/a>. Targu Mures offers a plentitude of interesting and pleasant places to visit at your leisure. Here is the famous Teleki library, the oldest in Transylvania. You must se the Palace of Culture with its fascinating mirror-hall built in the Secession style and the recently renovated medieval castle <a href=\"http:\/\/www.muzeumures.ro\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.muzeumures.ro<\/a>.  The town is full of life, there is a holiday place called Week End. This is located on a peninsula in the Mures River full of swimming pools, brasseries and sportfields. In the neighborhood at Sangeorgiu de Mures you can find a salt-spa with complete health and wellness services <a href=\"http:\/\/clubapollo.ro\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/clubapollo.ro\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Day Tours Toplita town is the ideal place for short or one-day tours.
